The access conditions for the practical test differ based on the selected pathway. This test takes place in one of the centres that has been approved by Wallonia :
If you pass, you can apply for your category-B driving licence from your municipal administration.
Key points
From 1 January 2026, the conditions for access to the practical driving test will change in the Walloon Region.
To be eligible to take the practical driving test, the entire testing pathway must have been completed in the Walloon Region. This means that:
You must have passed the theoretical test in the Walloon Region.
You must have passed the hazard perception test in the Walloon Region.
Special case: M18 provisional driving licence (without a supervisor)
If you have chosen the M18 provisional driving licence route (driving without a supervisor), the technical driving skills test must also have been taken in the Walloon Region in order to be eligible for the practical driving test in the Walloon Region.
What if I took a test or examination in another Region?
From 1 January 2026, passes obtained in another Region (theoretical test or hazard perception test) will no longer give access to the practical driving test in the Walloon Region.
In that case, you will need to retake these tests in the Walloon Region before you can sit the practical driving test.
Practical test with a sworn interpreter
Candidates for a Category B driving licence take the practical test in French at the driving test centre of their choice. Candidates who choose German take the practical test at the Eupen driving test centre.
Candidates who do not have sufficient knowledge of French or German may take the practical test in Dutch or English with the assistance of an interpreter appointed by the driving test centre from among sworn translators. The interpreter's fees are to be paid by the candidate.

To take the practical exam, you must be at least 18 years old.

The cost of the category B practical driving test is €41 (Bancontact, Mastercard, Visa et V-Pay...).
You must satisfy the following criteria to take the practical test :
- be at least 18 years of age ;
- take the test on public roads with your own vehicle ;
- have a valid ID document ;
- have proof that you passed the theory test in the Walloon Region within the last three years ;
- have proof that you passed the
hazard perception test in the Walloon Region; - have a valid provisional driving licence (issued more than three months ago) ;
- have proof that you have completed the mandatory training required after two failures, if applicable ;
- have valid proof of civil-liability insurance for the vehicle you are using (green card – international insurance certificate) ;
- have the registration certificate for the vehicle you are using ;
- have the valid green certificate for the vehicle you are using (if the vehicle is subject to a technical inspection) ;
- have the Belgian or European driving licence of the mentor or person accompanying you, which is valid for driving the vehicle in which the practical test is taken ;
- have the teaching certificate for the guide, if applicable ;
- have the valid identity document of the mentor or person accompanying you, which has been issued in Belgium ;
- have proof of payment of the fee (in case of advance payment).
If you have enrolled in a certified driving school:
- have a valid ID document ;
- have proof that you passed the theory test in the Walloon Region within the last three years ;
- have proof that you passed the
hazard perception test in the Walloon Region ; - your practical training certificate issued by a certified driving school, confirming that you completed the 30-hour training;
- have a valid provisional driving license (issued more than three months ago) or a training certificate issued by your local municipal administration;
- have proof that you have completed the mandatory training required after two failures, if applicable ;
- have the valid identity document of the mentor or person accompanying you, which has been issued in Belgium ;
- have proof of payment of the fee (in case of advance payment).
