Summary
Wallonia is responsible for regulating driving instruction, checking the conditions of access to the profession and issuing relevant certificates. It also verifies the conditions of access to the market and approves driving schools. An approved driving school must apply for approval of its staff members. This refers to any person with a management or instructing role in the driving school whether on a contractual or autonomous basis. Staff members must meet the conditions of Articles 12 and 13 of the Royal Decree of 11 May 2004. To do this, when a new member of staff joins, the driving school must apply for approval and pay a specific fee.

Members of staff must meet the conditions set out in Articles 12 and 13 of the Royal Decree of 11 May 2004 on the conditions for the approval of driving schools (motor vehicles).
Applications for approval of members of staff are sent to the Walloon Public Service’s Directorate for Road Transport Regulation by emailing formation.conduite.automobile@spw.wallonie.be and attaching the following documents:
- Form AE015 - application for authorisation of a member of staff can be found at http://mobilite.wallonie.be/home/je-suis/une-ecole-de-conduite/formulaires.html
- The following documents must be provided with the application for approval of a member of staff:
- A copy of both sides of the driving licence;
- An extract from the criminal record, dated within the last three months, attesting compliance with the conditions laid down in Article 12, §1, 1°and 2;
- A copy of the authorisation to instruct or act as director / authorisation for a training course.

When a staff member leaves the school, please indicate the date of departure and return the crossed out form to: formation.conduite.automobile@spw.wallonie.be
As part of this application, the driving school must also pay a specific fee of EUR 55 (non-indexed amount) per staff member before the staff member commences any activity. The payment must be made to account No BE52 0912 1502 7609, with the AE communication / AE approval No / Name and first name of the instructor.
