Summary
Regulations exempt people between the ages of 60 and 70 who wish to move into assisted living facilities or day care centers from having to apply for an exemption.
To date, there are no provisions in the regulations for individuals under 60 years of age. These applications must be submitted to AVIQ. The file is then forwarded to the competent Minister, who will decide whether or not to grant the exemption.

The institution submits the request for an exemption to AVIQ, which, after processing, forwards a draft favorable decision to the competent Minister.
