The birth allowance or bonus is a one-off bonus paid at the birth of the child. It is the (future) mother who makes the request and receives the allowance, paid by the family allowance fund of her choice. Furthermore, from now on, it is the child's domicile which determines the region responsible for the payment of family allowances.

The birth bonus is paid into the account number of the child's mother, provided when registering with the family allowance fund of her choice.
How to apply for a birth bonus?
- The applicant submits the application for the birth bonus to the family allowance fund on which he depends or to the fund of his choice, if he does not yet have one.
Payment will be made no earlier than two months before the child's expected date of birth. This date is mentioned on the medical certificate to be attached to the request.
When to apply for a birth bonus?
The birth bonus can be requested from the sixth month of pregnancy and up to five years after the birth of the child.
