Summary
In order to open a private telecommunications office, or a phone shop, you must first apply for authorisation from the municipality where you want to set up your business
In detail
To do so, you have to submit a written application to the municipal department using the special form for this purpose. If you wish to set up in several locations, you need one authorisation per place of establishment.
The law defines a phone shop as any establishment where on-site access services to telecommunications tools such as telephones or the internet are provided.
Costs
Depending on the location, a tax on the commercial area and a fee for opening a file should be paid. This is a direct tax.
The recommended maximum tax is EUR 25 per m² with a recommended maximum total amount of EUR 3 350 per establishment.
For areas below 50 m², a flat-rate tax may apply. In this case, the recommended maximum amount is EUR 1 000.
The available payment methods may differ depending on the municipality and may include cash, card, bank transfer, or electronic payment if the municipality has an e-counter.
Deadlines
This must be done before your establishment opens. Contact the municipality concerned to find out the exact details.
