Submit an application for an IMPULSEO grant or subsidy

General practitioners.

SETUP GRANT: IMPULSEO I

This grant encourages you to set up practice as a general practitioner in an underserved area—that is, an area with a shortage of doctors.

You can apply for this grant if:

• you are setting up practice for the first time (first-time practice);
  • you are setting up practice within 5 years of being certified as a general practitioner;
  • you are setting up practice upon returning from a developing country

• you are moving to an area with a shortage of general practitioners.

The amount of the grant awarded to doctors is 20.000€ or 25.000€, depending on the municipality where you set up practice (low or very low density of general practitioners).

In addition to the bonus, you can receive free assistance from a support organization. A support organization will assist you during the first 18 months of your practice.

SUBSIDY FOR EMPLOYMENT COSTS: IMPULSEO II

This is financial assistance intended to cover a portion of the payroll costs for a general practitioner’s employee, whether in private practice or as part of a group practice:

• for a doctor in private practice, the subsidy may cover up to half of the actual payroll costs, with a maximum cap of €6,300 (indexed), subject to certain conditions;
• In the case of a group practice, the subsidy may cover up to half of the actual payroll costs, with a maximum limit of €6,300 (indexed) per physician in the group, subject to certain conditions.

This subsidy may be applied for annually, no later than May 31 of each year.

SUBSIDY FOR THE COSTS OF USING A TELE-SECRETARIAL SERVICE: IMPULSEO III

This assistance covers a portion of the costs of a medical tele-secretarial service. Medical tele-secretarial services assist with the administrative management of a general practitioner’s practice.

This assistance may be requested by both medical groups and individual practitioners. It covers half of the actual costs, up to a maximum of 3700€ (indexed) per physician.

This subsidy can be applied for annually, no later than May 31 of each year.

COMBINING IMPULSEO II AND III GRANTS

You cannot combine the following for the same month:

• the subsidy for payroll costs (Impulseo II);
• the remote secretarial services grant (Impulseo III).

However, you may spread these grants out over the year. For example:

• 6 months of payroll cost assistance;
• 6 months of assistance for remote secretarial services.

SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

How you submit your Impulseo II or Impulseo III application depends on:

• the region where you are based;
• how you practice: individually or as part of a group of physicians

• Impulseo I: This grant may be applied for only once and under certain conditions.
• Impulseo II: This grant can be applied for annually, no later than May 31 of each year.
• Impulseo III: This grant can be applied for annually, no later than May 31 of each year.
