Revitalising Wallonia's city centres with the Prospective Urbaine tool

The Prospective Urbaine tool assesses the attractiveness and performance of your city centre and then proposes several potential solutions to boost the energy in the centre of your city.

The Walloon tool brings together a collection of data and analyses that measure several aspects of your city centre, such as:

  • commercial activity
  • mobility
  • security
  • cleanliness
  • events

Target audience – details

Only municipalities that have a city centre development agency recognised by Wallonia can access the tool. 

Conditions

To take advantage of the Prospective Urbaine too, a municipality must have a city centre development agency recognised by the Walloon Region.

Benefits

The data from the study can be used to identify tailor-made courses of action to boost activity in your city centre. You can use these data for promotional aims or share them with third parties.

We are currently conducting surveys among shoppers (Customers in shops) and shopkeepers.
Additional analyses are being developed.

Procedure

The city centre development agencies must sign a written agreement with the Direction des Implantations Commerciales in the SPW Economy, Employment, Research, and comply with the conditions set out in this agreement in order to implement the Prospective Urbaine tool under the right conditions.
