Summary
The mission of Family and Senior Assistance Services (SAFA) is to provide home assistance, support and supervision to families in difficulty, to seniors and people with disabilities, as well as to their close caregivers. This mission is carried out by home help professionals subsidized by AVIQ such as:
- Family helpers
- Home guards
- Social home helps
There are many forms of home help:
- Help with daily tasks (housekeeping, meals, shopping, laundry, administrative procedures, help getting up, moving around, getting dressed, washing, etc.).
- Providing presence and respite to close caregivers through ‘home care’.
These services are adapted to the different profiles and pathologies of the beneficiaries, with flexible hours, to promote:
- Staying and returning home
- Support
- Help with daily living for isolated, sick or disabled people or families.
