Obtaining a certificate for the carriage of chemical products by inland waterway (ADN)

1. Be at least 18 years old; and 

2. Have a certificate for the carriage of dangerous goods (basic level), issued by one of the competent authorities; and 

3. Have successfully completed a training course on the carriage of dangerous goods (chemical products), provided by one of the following training centres: 

    - BLM in Belsele: https://www.blmadvieskantoor.be/; 

    - DGT in Zelzate: https://www.dgtvzw.be/contact; 

    - Transafe BVBA in Assenede: Transafe Academy - cursus ADN Chemie - Transafe; and 

4. Have passed an examination no later than 6 months after successfully completing the training course on the carriage of dangerous goods (chemical products). 

The subjects covered in the examination are listed in point 8.2.2.3.3.2. of the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Inland Waterways (ADN).

1. Print out and complete the application form; 

2. Pay the fee: see application form; 

3. Send the application form and the following documents to the navigation office: 

     - a photocopy of your valid ID card or passport; 

     - a recent identity photograph; 

     - a certificate for the carriage of dangerous goods – basic level; 

     - a certificate showing successful completion of the training course on the carriage of dangerous goods – chemical products;
