Any company that wants to perform fairground activities on Walloon territory must prove that they have approval for fairground activities, which has been issued by an approved one-stop-shop for business.

Fairground activities comprise any sale, offer of sale or display of consumer products or services with a view to sale, in the context of the operation of fairground attractions or fairground food establishments that offer eat-in dining options.

An individual who performs fairground activities on their own behalf, as an individual or as a company manager, must be in possession of an approval for fairground activities.

An individual who performs fairground activities on behalf of an individual or a company (as an assistant, employee, etc.) must be in possession of an employee approval for fairground activities.

Procedure

To obtain approval for fairground activities, the company must contact an approved one-stop-shop for business.

Corporate approval for fairground activities costs €150.

Employee approval for fairground activities costs €100.

Conditions

To obtain approval for fairground activities, the relevant party must satisfy three criteria:

Nationality or residence conditions: be a national from a member of the European Economic Area (EEA), or have permanent residence in Belgium;

Profession condition: satisfy the criteria required to perform fairground activities;

Safety condition: comply with the safety requirements for operating an attraction powered by a non-human energy source.
