While barely one European out of a hundred is Walloon, Wallonia accounts for 1% of world trade. Two-thirds of the total turnover of Walloon industries comes from exports. These figures speak for themselves. Wallonia is definitely in the global industrial big league when it comes to exports per capita.
Is it any wonder that Wallonia is an attractive location for foreign investors?

More recently, the Region has set up a highly efficient Office for Foreign Investors (OFI). The OFI has various key responsibilities: prospecting foreign markets through commissioned experts and partners and receiving potential investors for whom the Office is the main point of contact with Wallonia.

In order to promote the skills base and the vital interests of the Region and to bolster the international business of its enterprises, the Walloon authorities set up the Walloon Export Agency (AWEX). This Agency has over 80 trade representatives abroad and is responsible for implementing the Region's foreign trade policy.
